taijireality's Nearly End of Year Update
Music, Philosophy and a Podcast for these terrible times.
Greetings.
I’ve been warned by some that it might be foolish to release The Mayor of Oblivion’s “Scapegoats” video. Regardless, I feel it’s worth putting it out there as it drives home what I believe is an essential message.
It’s impossible to know the consequences for expressing anything - no matter how seemingly trivial. To this point no one has much cared about what I’ve had to say about anything which is neither a reason to shut up nor to feel comfortable about self expression. It’s easy to get in a lot of trouble for speaking freely these days. Some might take this as reason enough to keep quiet as a basic policy. But this assumes that staying out of trouble is more important than honest participation in the difficulties and discourses of the day.
I feel somewhat emboldened by the many enthusiastic comments I’ve gotten thus far. We’ll see what happens. G-d willing may it be good.
On the philosophy front: here’s the latest development in trigram/bagua theoryland:
If you’re sick of the same old life patterns some of the ideas contained in the trigrams and bagua may actually be useful (believe it or not).
In keeping with the existential spirit of the day November’s Assembly of Silence is a monologue meditation suggesting a framework for these uncertain times. While I do believe these ideas may be helpful for some folks in coming to terms with what’s going on it may be uncomfortably over the top for others: proceed with caution!
